A medicinal cannabis store on Concession Street says it is offering a different kind of pain relief.
“This is the future,” said Tamara Hirsh, a medicinal marijuana advocate and spokeswoman for Pacifico, which opened earlier this month.
“(We) provide medical cannabis for confirmed medical users (and help) medicinal users obtain legal licensing and provide them the opportunity for education and choice.”
Hirsh said the company, which also has outlets on James Street North and King Street West, has about 20 different strains of pot to choose from plus more than 100 non-smokable products such as oil drops, skin creams and bath balms.
Hirsh said all their customers must show a medical prescription for cannabis or provide a licence that enables them to use pot before they can be served.
“If you come in blatantly recreational, we can’t help you, that’s not our model,” she said.
Anyone 19 or over who comes in wanting to try medicinal pot but doesn’t have prescription will be referred to Green Card Canada, a network of doctors who prescribe medicinal marijuana.
