Leamington Woman Part of Spotlight on Females in Cannabis Industry

Sarah Dobbin admits she didn’t know anything about the legal pot industry when she interviewed for a job at Leamington medical marijuana producer Aphria in 2014.

But now the 26-year-old Brampton native is a passionate advocate for the industry and its growth — literal and figurative.

“After finding out how it’s actually helping people, I wanted to get involved,” Dobbin said. “I wanted to work here right away.”

“The product changes lives. We get testimonials from our patients every single day about how it has absolutely changed their lives for the better.”

Dobbin is one of six women included in a feature in the latest issue of Lift magazine about females taking leadership roles in the cannabis industry — which the publication covers.

Dobbin — who studied psychology and marketing at the University of Guelph — said her work for Aphria now mostly entails professional outreach. “I’m responsible for sharing our story with the public, clinics, doctors. I focus on the education side.”
