This weekend marks the start of cannabis conference season in Canada. While we can’t wait for the Lift Expo happening May 26 to 28th, there’s another conference series before that: The O’Cannabiz Conference and Expo this April 21 to 23 at Toronto’s Sheraton Centre. The event features a stacked lineup of professionals and individuals from across the world and from a broad cross-section of the industry. Here are four of the must-see events happening over the weekend.
O’Cannabiz Industry Overview with Dooma Wendschuh
Bright and early at 9:45 AM on Friday, co-founder and CEO of Province, Dooma Wendschuh, will provide a general overview of how the cannabis industry in Canada stands today by looking south of the border for comparison. Wendschuh will soon be launching Province Brands, a company that is currently in “secret mode.” He’ll surely reveal more during his talk, and according to a recent Now Magazine article, the company will be producing some sort of cannabis beer. Cheers to that!
Ms Cannabiz: A Business Breakfast for Women
A broad range of women in the cannabis industry come together to share “experiences, challenges, and successes” with other like-minded women. The keynote will be delivered by political activist Jodie Emery, and moderated by Noa Kahner, the CEO of Kahner Global. Rounding out the panel will be an American presence, including: Dr. Gina Berman, the medical director of Giving Tree Wellness, a dispensary in Arizona; Dr. Uma Dhanablan of Total Healthcare THC; and Maya Elisabeth, CEO of Whoopi and Maya and Founder of Om Edibles.
