The Healing Tree on Water Street St. John’s

The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU-NL) said today it seized a large amount of cannabis products from The Healing Tree in St. John’s Wednesday evening in downtown St. John’s.

About 7:30 p.m., members of the CFSEU-NL executed a search warrant at the store, which police say is a illegal marijuana dispensary.

Items seized included marijuana, shatter and hashish, along with some Canadian currency.

Two people were arrested and charges are pending under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

CFSEU-NL is an integrated investigative unit consisting of members from both the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) prohibits possession, trafficking, import and export, and production of controlled substances, including marijuana, unless authorized by regulations, the unit noted in a news release.
