Nearly a quarter of all Manitobans would try marijuana if and when it becomes legal to do so in Canada.
That’s according to a new poll from Probe Research. Thirteen per cent said they would be very interested in trying it, while another 11% said they would be somewhat interested. The interest level is highest among men ages 18-34, at 37%, those with some post-secondary education (32%), and renters (38%), Probe found.
Only 13% of respondents admitted to using the drug in the past 12 months.
The poll, taken between Nov. 29 and Dec. 11, are considered accurate within 3.1 percentage points, 95% of the time.
The Trudeau government is expected to release details of how recreational marijuana will be legalized sometime in the new year.
