Sex, spirituality and cannabis: that’s a heady trifecta for anyone, but for a select group of couples heading to a Muskoka mansion this February, it’s a promising formula for romance.
Leading this love mission is Antuanette Gomez, a tantric sex instructor, and founder of Pleasure Peaks, a company devoted to – you guessed it – sex, spirituality, and cannabis.
Tantra, says Gomez, was instrumental in bringing her and her boyfriend closer, inspiring her to share its lessons with others. Although she describes the ancient tradition as a sacred practice, she notes that her retreat will also feature modern pleasures, including a heated indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna. Gomez wants to create a space for couples to come together with intention, and to cherish their time away in lavish surroundings. “It’s going to be super duper luxurious,” she says, “Like ridiculous luxurious – rose petals in the hot tub luxurious.”
The event includes all meals, catered by chef and comedian Big Norm Alconcel, who will serve cannabis-infused aphrodisiacs with each course. Gomez is excited about the food, which she says will be high-end, with options for guests with dietary restrictions. Couples will also receive customized vape pens, flower, and access to a dab bar. CBD pens will be on hand to help ground any guests who feel too high.
In her experience as a student at tantric retreats, Gomez says the days are often long and devoted to philosophical lessons delivered in lecture style. Although she enjoys that format, her event will focus on practical exercises to bring couples closer. Each day’s optional three-hour tantra workshop will explore energy balance, erotic massage techniques, and genital work using diagrams. There will be no public nudity. “Boundaries are a huge part of it,” says Gomez. “We all have our different urges and energies and feelings we’re working on, and if you don’t want to participate in a specific exercise, that’s okay.”
