Sunday way a beautiful day in Toronto, clear skies and a long weekend. On top of that there was a Lifted Market taking place in the West end of Toronto.
The Lifted Market is Toronto’s newest cannabis market that happens twice a month, once in the East end and once in the West. The organizers have been running this event for a few months now. Other this time they’ve connected with new vendors, helping display/introduce these products to the Toronto market.
There where some of the main vendors from other markets present such as CannaWorld, Sofa King Good and The Bakers Oven. There were lots of new vendors, with a lot more having buds and concentrates than at the other markets. With 40+ vendors you’re bound to see a booth and probably new products that you haven’t seen before.
One of the new vendors that caught our attention was Purple Krown Canna Co, an infused edible company that has gummies and Choco-Budz available. We sampled their Choco-Budz, a Clodhopper type treat made to resemble cannabis buds. You’ve probably seen them on Instagram made by one company or another. Purple Krown Canna Co. took it one step further and infused their treats with cannabis as well. We were fortunate enough to be given a sample, so look for that review soon!
There was a pleasant surprise, as we walked around we saw two vendors who had some clones available and it seemed to be a hot commodity as both were basically down to just one strain left. As you walk through your eyes will catch different things you missed, but that’s why you need to go and visit in person because you never know what you’ll see.
Since going to a couple Lifted Market I really like chill atmosphere they’ve created through having free entry, door prizes/giveaways, larger space so it doesn’t feel crowded, and a non-medicated snack table with water. There is an almost even balance between edibles and bud/concentrates vendors making it so you can access everything you need.
After the Lifted Market we made our way into Kensington Market as we heard Sweet Dreams Creamery was having a Pop-Up shop where you could sample their medicated ice cream. We had almost past the shop when a young gentleman called at us from across the street, “ Hey you guys in the Dankr shirts want to try our cannabis ice cream?” That’s all the info I needed to cross the street and head on in after our IDs were checked. Inside the pop-up there were a few clothing racks with t-shirts for sale in different colours. At the back there was a desk with a couple guys sitting around it before one of them got up, went behind a curtain, and shortly returned with a small scoop of ice cream for each of us.
The ice cream was tasty without a noticeable cannabis taste coming through. I asked how infused it was and found out it contained 20mg. I’m assuming that dose if for a full container, not for just our scoop. After we left my brother pointed out there was a little coating covering his throat that was presumably from the cannabis infused into the ice cream. I noticed it as well. It wasn’t really a flavour, just a slight residue that isn’t present in regular ice cream.
It was a great day wandering around Toronto in the summer heat. Stay posted to the Lifted Market’s Instagram for the upcoming markets as well as the Dankr Event page that has the Lifted Markets and other Toronto cannabis events listed for your enjoyment.
