Eden Dispensary Overview:
Eden is a high-end dispensary that offers great customer service and a variety of products. This dispensary has a professional feel, with budtenders that are determined to answer you’re questions. Eden has a binder full of information on their products to inform you and help with your decision-making.
Eden Dispensary Location:
1625 Bayview Ave. (Bayview & Eglinton)
Eden is located on Bayview Ave. about 5 blocks south of Eglinton. This can be an awkward location for patients to reach with only one bus going directly past it. (#11 bus from Davisville Station) If you drive to Eden, you can find parking on a side street.
Eden Dispensary Membership Access:
Eden offers a doctor via FaceTime for any individuals that need to be diagnosed. If you are an MMAR/MMPR/ACMPR patient then you do not need to see the doctor, but they will ask for some contact information. Whether you are diagnosed through their Dr. or previously diagnosed you will need to initial and sign a form on iPad, agreeing not to smoke on site, redistribute, mix with alcohol, etc.
Eden Dispensary Pricing & Selection:
I did my research beforehand and knew to expect prices to range from $10 – $15 per gram, but didn’t know tax was not included. This is CRAZY expensive especially with themselves, Eden Farms, producing some of their products. For example, Eden Farms grew the Organic Blue Dream I purchased, but still charged $15 +tax even though there was no “middle man” to drive up the price. The Blue Dream was fluffy, and looked like it was harvested prematurely. The buds I got had extra leaves that should have been trimmed off and some leaves had yellow tips. The quality of bud and experience smoking did not surpass the Blue Dream I’ve tried from other Toronto dispensaries for less than 70% of the cost. Eden’s Organic Blue Dream did smell the best though, but you don’t notice the taste when smoking.
Eden also carries Thompson Caribou Concentrate syrups for $60 +tax. This is another example of the extreme price gouging. This product can be ordered directly from Thompson Caribou Concentrate’s website for $35 + $17 flat shipping. The site also offers bulk discounts. They had shatter for $75/gram +tax, one kind of budder for $22/gram and a variety of topicals, phoenix tears, rubs and even lube. They carry an Iced THC beverage for $20 that claims 100mg of THC. I love my Iced Tea so I had to purchase the Iced THC to try and will be reviewing soon.
Unique to Eden Dispensary:
Eden is one of a few dispensaries that produces some of their products themselves and lab tests them. Lab testing is useful when making a decision, and something not many other dispensaries do. When inquiring they mentioned all the testing is done before the dispensary receives the product. This means strains they do not produce will have less information and potentially no testing. I asked about the THC & CBD percent’s for the CBD Afghani, because it wasn’t labeled on the jar. The budtender did not know and asked another budtender that gave a rough answer. This wasn’t enough info, so the budtender pulled out a binder that had laminated pages containing all the information for each strain. This is one of two dispensaries that do something like this with all the information in one location. I would have preferred the budtenders having this information memorized like other dispensaries so they can help patients instantaneously. Eden is also the only dispensary carrying the Iced THC, that I know of.
Eden Dispensary Staff:
Staff was very kind and friendly, I did not feel pressured into making a purchase. Shaq gave me a quick rundown of all the different products that they carry and I was surprised by the vast quantity of non-smokable products offered. Staff were not aware of all of the product information and needed to rely on the hard copy. When purchasing a gram for $16.95 (tax included) I expect to be blow away by the customer service and product, unfortunately the product let me down.
